This piece was a finalist in the Town of Claremont Art Prize 2025. 

Grey Days was created as a gesture of beauty in grief. It reflects my belief that something vital lives within the bleak and colourless — in the windswept, the wild, the grey. Painted through tears, it became a quiet act of resilience: an expression of the feminine as soft, yet as powerful and enduring as our coastline. Shaped by the weather fronts of my Western Australian childhood, this work invites a deeper gaze — to find beauty where others might not, and to recognise courage not in defiance, but in grace held steady against the storm.
